Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress singer and dancer. She started her Broadway career performing in musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde and Hair. The actress was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured actress in the Play in the role of Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside well-known directors and actors for stage productions and on television. The award-winning actress continues her career by working on new projects. Ashford next will star opposite Kumail Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive show Welcome to Chippendales which premieres November 22. Ashford's current project will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film will stream through Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford will be returning in 2023, and will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the return of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the production. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the national crisis that swept across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment hearings in over 100 years. Ashford was a part of two seasons of hit CBS comedy B Positive. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also included Ben Vereen as well as Hector Elizondo. She has also performed on Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first character in the role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for an Tony Award. Ashford is from the city of Denver resident who splits his time in Los Angeles.
