Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American performer and actress, is quite famous. In her early years she was subjected to racial taunts by many people in America. When she attended a 9th grade school audition, where she received high praise for her singing, she started to build confidence. The event not only helped the confidence of her, but also altered her goals in the future. In 1992, she received her master's degree from the city's Julliard School. At the age of 23 she began her career in Broadway in the Paul Simon musical The Capeman. Then, when she was 23 she made her film debut in You've Got Mail. But her biggest break came when she appeared in the character in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the first Broadway show Spamalot receiving not just an award called the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. Following that she was cast in the role of Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gain more fame. She is known as a performer and also released a single and an extended play. Also, she's an activist and works hard for LGBT rights.
